Hailing from the English landscapes of Manchester, British Alt/Hip Hop artist, A Boy Who Cried Wolf, began hitting the ground running in the music realm earlier this year in 2018, and has developed a very multifaceted signature sound and stylization that touches on both originality and familiarity.

Putting his own versatile edge on a Hip Hop & Rock influenced sound, ABWCW delivers up dynamic and finely integrated music with a vocal delivery reminiscent of influential industry heavyweights including Ioyle Carner, Mouse Outfit, and Lil Peep.

Growing up and manifesting under a Jewish identity, the aspiring lyricist recently released his debut singles “Thoughts In My Brain” and “Whiskey”, two tracks that demonstrates a chemistry that combines catchiness an animated lyrical style that really brings out ABWCW’s artistic merit. Artist Review: TIGER DRIVE – “Legend” Official Music Video

Some bands are just meant to be discovered. This is one of those cases.

With a modernization and stylization that delivers vibe, energy, and a multifaceted chemistry among three brilliant musicians, Rock-tronic power trio TIGER DRIVE hits it out of the park with a cinematic music video for their single “Legend”.

The title advertises this song perfectly. With subtle verses that build up to an electrically explosive chorus, this song does no wrong. We have a charismatic vocal range delivering up lyrical justice both in content and execution; there’s an aura among the trio that gets you to feel TIGER DRIVE‘s energy, authenticity, and visual perception.

The video brings forth a use of color that is something out of Hollywood’s standards. With action, drama, and suspense elements that parallel perfectly with the song’s captivating sequences, “Legend” takes us on a front row edge-of-your-seat cinematic ride.

The catchiness of this track is unwavering – each member feeds off the song’s anticipating structures and really kicks things into high gear when the chorus comes around. When watching the video, each member really shows their true artistic merit in its full package and brings you something that combines originality and familiarity with their dynamic sound.

This song is an all-or-nothing kind of single – where if TIGER DRIVE is gonna deliver music, they’re gonna do it holding nothing back. This song is it, their time is now. And this is definitely the song that will get you relentlessly hooked on this band.

Artist Review: Nadel Paris – “Ooh La La La La” Single

Pop artists can be dime-a-dozen, but there is only one Nadel Paris.

Her acclaimed sophomore single “Ooh La La La La” starts out with her infectious chorus melody, and continues to flourish as the song’s high production value along with Nadel‘s very unique and versatile vocal range takes form and showcases her strengths in musicianship very effectively as the track plays out.

It’s definitely one of those choruses that reels you in from the first listen, and entices you to look deeper into this track, as well as Nadel Paris‘s catalogue of other music altogether.

Combining classic pop sensibilities from the older eras we’ve grown to know and love and integrated into today’s mainstream approach is what really makes this song the gem it really is. She brings out a strong showcase of musicianship, aura, relentless vocal talent, and a signature sound and stylization that separates her from your average run-of-the-mill artist.

The song hit the ground running in the internet radio circuit, and she continues to garner new fans and listeners with every set of ears that discovers this song, and her music catalogue altogether. The song peaked at #31 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, and she even did a formal interview about her on-the-rise success with her insatiable drive and multifaceted talent and impact on the EDM/Pop scene in a very short time – reaching an amazing feat most artists have a hard time getting to, even with decades under their belt. But Paris came out swinging with “Ooh La La La La” and has no intention of slowing her momentum down anytime soon.

Once you take a listen to this infectiously-catchy track, you’ll be singing it in your head (or out loud) relentlessly. It’s impossible not to absolutely love this song. Once you listen yourself, you’ll understand why.

Artist Review: NuJ4X – “Dab (On Dem Haterz)” Music Video/Single

There is a lot of hype coming from the noise tank of EDM and its varieties. But when it comes to Nashville’s NuJ4X, we have a take on the genre with a much more multifaceted angle.

Combining a pounding rhythm and Hip Hop lyrical components, we have an explosive audio and visual package with NuJ4X‘s versatile single “Dab (On Dem Haterz). A song that is equally powerful to watch just as much as it is to listen.

Combining the concept of a lyric video and a found-footage spectrum with some innovative video editing, we have a track and music video that share perfect parallels. From dynamic vocal structures to infectiously catchy hooks, we have a chemistry of EDM that utilizes mainstream-worthy elements, and new ones that add a whole new flavor to it. It’s the type of video that needs to be seen to be believed.

Best of all, there are no cheat methods at play here. We don’t hear relentless auto-tune or overuse of plugins; we have a well-crafted track with outstanding execution and production value that any fan of the genre can appreciate. NuJ4X charisma and personality antics are also great additives. One thing most noticeable is the simplicity of the overall aura – we hear real music delivered up by a DJ with insatiable skills behind the turntables.

Artist Review: Phoenix O’Neill – “Out Of The Ashes” EP

If talent and opportunity ever came knocking, it pretty much beat down the doors for 23-year old British Singer, Phoenix O’Neill.

And she has pretty much hit the ground running since her captivating voice and intricate, dark songs found its way to renowned producers James Sanger (Dido, Keane, Siobhan Donaghy, Brian Eno) and Paul Kilmister (son of legendary late Motörhead frontman, Lemmy Kilmister), who teamed up to form SangMister Music, who have contributed heavily to O’Neill‘s haunting and hypnotic signature sound from her upcoming EP Out Of The Ashes.

O’Neill‘s spellbinding vocals have been compared to Amy Winehouse, Elle King, and a touch of Björk, with eerie melodies similar to Massive Attack and Portishead. But we also hear a ton of new school sensibilities from other icons such as Lorde, Becky Hill, and Lana Del Rey — really giving Phoenix the balance and composure that makes her stand out most effectively, and unforgettably.

Her single from the EP, “I Need You”, brings out these many components stemming from her gifted vocal range and texture, artist inspiration & development, and a powerhouse Production team all honing their craft together beautifully — delivering us a sound that is familiar yet dynamically fresh. As soon as this track starts, you’re immediately hooked into Phoenix and her vocal aura; there’s no way around it. You will easily wonder how this artist isn’t already blown up to super stardom. Artist Review: Blaque Rose

This is definitely new food for the ear, and a taste that’s very acquired and inspiring.

Blaque Rose came out of the gate recently and we’re happy to say that we get to be the first ones to write about some of his music from his upcoming release, slated for this year. First of all, a lot of EDM & Electronic Music comes to the platform quite often, but I gotta say that BR definitely brings a versatility into his music that is something raw and original compared to others I’ve heard.

One thing I can hear is some of the 90s elements in some of BR‘s sing-songy hooks. I can hear elements of The Cure with a touch of Radiohead, somewhere on that plateau. There’s a fresh and catchy feel to every chorus, especially on his track “Needed You”, which opens up with the hook. And it definitely reels you right in.

He also displays a lot of charisma in his verses on “Chosen Ones” where you can really hear Blaque Rose coming into the forefront and adding more chemistry and cog to the mix to develop a dynamic signature sound and stylization. Another element he adds is Retro, a very innovative style and groove that separates him from most contemporary Electronic artists. This approach is definitely different than one might expect just from the word Electronic alone. And that’s one of BR‘s best likability factors – he’s bringing something raw to a very familiar concept, and an original concept to a familiar genre.

His upcoming release is coming out this year, and is in its mastering/production stages. You will likely see a follow-up review when he officially drops the record. In the meantime, connect with Blaque Rose and get to know him as he continues to manifest.

Artist Review #2: Anton Cullen – Breaking Through EP

With great pleasure, we are bringing back one-man EDM powerhouse Anton Cullen to the platform, and for very good reason.

Since our previous review of his single “Breaking Through”, the elite producer has put together an EP of the same name, featuring two more very diverse and mind-bending singles that clearly shows evolution of Cullen‘s artistic merit and versatility.

First new single is “Heaven On Earth”. An uplifter with a very subtle intro that eases into a solidification of melody, progressive measures, and a nostalgic euphoria for the ears. It’s a great track that really shows a whole different angle to Anton Cullen and his innovative take on EDM and production value. It’s a toned-down, feel-good song that definitely expresses a unique and universal tone that skyrockets the likability factors of this EP altogether with this single alone. In essence, this is a track that is impossible to dislike.

Shifting over to a different shift of moods, we have the second and final fresh single “Warfare”. Where Cullen really kicks it up a notch with some very effective twists and turns and video game pacing that really puts the throttle into overdrive. With some 80’s influences into the mix, we have a modern take on some of the classic root-elements of electronic music with some industrial touches, making this song one of the most versatile listens you’ll run into on this EP. From tempo changes, fast keyboard action and masterful production elements, this song really puts out a relentlessly energetic feel that will likely put your mind into a physical plateau of musical lust. It’s a brilliant track, and some of Cullen‘s best work to date.

All 3 songs from this EP (including the self-titled track we previously reviewed) are all different sides to a brilliant producer well on his way to something much bigger. Each song brings different components to the table, and even though you never hear the same thing twice, you can still sense that it’s coming from the mind of the same creator. If you haven’t discovered Anton Cullen yet, you’ll be glad you did now.
