Artist Review Special: Luanne Hunt & Steven Bankey – “Lightning In A Bottle” Duet/Single

Review by: Justyn Brodsky

Acclaimed and widely-received Award Winning Indie Country Star Luanne Hunt has made an astonishing presence on the Artist Reach platform at least twice. And third time is definitely the charm with her new duet-single “Lightning In A Bottle” performed alongside Sioux City Country Artist Steven Bankey.

This song is definitely another one of Hunt‘s upbeat gems with the same lovable and infectiously catchy signature style she is known for. And both voices on this song definitely brings out something special and memorable the more you hear it.

With an old school western-sensibility that ties in some of today’s best Country/Folk elements we’ve all come to know and love, this verse-sharing track is anything but a letdown. We get a story-telling narrative that brings both Hunt and Bankey to the forefront on each verse, while coming together with authentic and innovative vocal harmonies in the chorus to tie it all together into one great foot-stomping package. These two Country stars just soar together beautifully.

The likability factors are there for any Country listener. But it’s not just what is used in this song it’s how it’s used. We have very effective violin parts that parallel beautifully with the steel guitar-fills and piano-licks while showcasing some of the best use of backup tri-harmonies you could hear in such a naturally produced song: making it very busy, but not oversaturated. One thing you’ll be able to pick up on is how dynamic and precise this song’s composition is. It’s not one of those songs in need of relentless synthesizers, compression or auto-tune; this is about as real as it gets and it really sets a great tone for this track and showcases Hunt and Bankey‘s naturally-gifted talent in the most effective ways.

One other thing I found interesting is that even though this song is a duet, it’s not a love song. Which is not a bad thing at all. In fact, I found it more captivating that an upbeat duet is being put to use here without using the “Feature Artist” component. This is a duet for those looking to get out and dance to an amazing Country tune!

Both of these brilliant artists shine bright on “Lightning In A Bottle”. Take a listen for yourself, and we have no doubt you’ll feel the same.

Artist Review #2: Luanne Hunt – “So It Goes”

Review by: Justyn Brodsky

It’s an honor to bring back this award-winning Country Artist with her single “So It Goes”. Luanne Hunt‘s first review we did for her other single “Texas Tears” gave us a strong, charismatic, and flawless first impression. So it comes as no surprise that we once again have another song from her brilliant mind and beautiful voice to sweep us off our feet, onto the dance floor, and give us all the more reason to love her music and persona with genuine praise even more.

Just like her other single, this song has fantastic production value that showcases Hunt‘s craft and feel-good vibes when it comes to her diligent songwriting structures and very well pieced together vocal harmonies, clever lyrical measures, and great use of multi-layers including piano fills, catchy chord progressions, and a chorus you can’t help but have glued in your head with her spot-on vocal harmonies and fun, charismatic vibe that gives her sound a very polished one.

This is definitely a track that was perfected to its peak. Luanne Hunt‘s musicianship never leaves a stone unturned and always puts her best foot forward with her dynamic structures throughout every measure. And on top of having some of the best musicianship to showcase her, it’s her voice that really grabs hold of you and entices the listener to explore more into Hunt‘s catalogue of fun-loving anthems that separates her from your average Country or Folk artist.

Luanne Hunt is a Hall of Fame Artist that deserves the acclaim completely. She’s definitely worth the listen, and is far from a disappoint. We at Artist Reach are humbled to have her reach out to us again for another review. It’s an absolute honor and we can’t wait to see what Luanne Hunt has in store in the shortcoming. In the meantime, definitely check out her track “So It Goes”.

Artist Review: Luanne Hunt

Review by: Justyn Brodsky

Traditional, Fun, and with an insatiable determination to make you grab your dance partner, Luanne Hunt‘s funky and bluesy take on Country/Indie with her single “Texas Tears” gets you right up off your feet from the minute it starts playing.

Using very traditional production methods, classic bluesy guitar scales, and a soulfully fun and catchy vibe brings out the best of Luanne Hunt‘s blissful, soothing voice and story-telling vocal structures. She has a glow with her dynamically impressive vocal range, never succumbing to just one key element, but explores all possibilities in using her gifted voice among the the musician collective that she has put together. And one thing that stands out is the impressive arrangement of backup vocals and harmony placements. There’s never a gap left open or a measure untouched on this track, and it gives this song the fun, charismatic feeling that it delivers.

The twangy guitars are ever present in all the right places, and piano-driven Blues scales that compliment everything else that parallels with it. It’s perhaps one of the best multi-instrument foundations you could ask for, gives this Country song the Blues satisfaction that uplifts the overall outcome of this song, and puts an extra spark into Luanne Hunt‘s vocal approach, leaving you with something that showcases strong musicianship, authentic songwriting, and a voice that carries you through the entire track from start to finish.

Luanne Hunt is a very talented artist with a voice that goes perfectly with her pretty smile and fun-loving vibe that she brings with “Texas Tears”. This is a song that can satisfy anyone who appreciates the genre, and will most likely be added to your favorites.
