Artist Review: KF Greatness – “September 29 2” LP

With witty rhymes and bars combined with a signature sing-songy style at the forefront, KF Greatness continues to shoot for greatness with his latest 12-song record September 29 2.

This album has an overall atmosphere that is very easy to resonate with. It’s likable, stylistic and never fails to grab your attention. There are great melody placements and distinctive switching between the rapping and singing to the point where both components are combined, and it gives amazing flavor to the overall execution of KF‘s style and artistic merit.

There’s also an ethereal feel that takes place with each song’s approach, sharing a versatile blend between laid back feel-good tracks and straight up bangers, all which have a flavorful R&B additive in the mix to give the tracks a noticeable edge.

But one thing that really makes this album a standout is its range of tempos and rhythms – the different beats give KF ample opportunity to deliver up a unique lyrical flow in each song, and it’s a great way to hear several angles of his talent as well as different sides to his depth as a lyricist and writer of melodies. It’s definitely diversified, but you still hear the consistency that lets you know that KF‘s still at the heart of the project.

September 29 2 is a very relevant record and a great addition to both the mainstream and underground sides of the spectrum. It’s currently available on all digital music retailers and streaming platforms. You’ll dig every track from start to finish, and really delve into the artist that is KF Greatness.

Artist Review: Kevin Maze – “Been A Long Time” Single

Through innovative production value and an authentic take on today’s modern visceral Dance music, we get a rhythmic adventure from the modern realm of Kevin Maze‘s newest studio creation “Been A Long Time”.

This track impressively resonates with yesterday’s classic Dance vibes and today’s EDM sensibility. It’s a well crafted piece that would be suitable for raves, clubs, soundtracks and several other musical atmospheres

. The song takes off from the very first measure, builds up with each tasty additive, but never wavers from its rhythmic drive. And that’s what makes it a fun filled Dance anthem from beginning to end.

Utilizing samples that are appropriately placed without convoluting the song, “Been A Long Time” is a steady buildup of well paced measures and sequences that keep the energy flowing on the dance floor. There are no unnecessary theatrics and Maze definitely proves with this track that less is definitely more.

Overall, this track demonstrates what Dance music has always been about. Rhythm, pacing, vibes and authenticity. And it’s a breath of fresh air to hear Kevin Maze produce a track that sticks to that formula. You’ll be dancing all the way into 2019.

Artist Review: Brigz Crawford – “Let Love” LP

Tapping into an innovative swagger with today’s more prominent R&B sound, we get a breath of fresh air with Brigz Crawford‘s newest album Let Love.

An album that delves into a more versatile take on the current wave of the mainstream R&B genre with elements of EDM and Hip Hop, Brigz shows a lot of promise with this record and keeps you intrigued from the very first song. He has melodic vocal melodies, story telling lyrical narratives and a voice that ties it all together diligently.

One standout on the album is the multifaceted use of different rhythms and tempos – where we get something a little different in each song, but we also know it’s coming from the same artist. There’s great depth and artistic merit placed throughout the track that brings Brigz‘ musicianship factors to the forefront, showcasing his authenticity and originality. This album, and he as an artist, show a very promising direction with this record.

With insatiable charisma behind the mic and a very original blend of lyrical formulas, DJ Waterzz pulls out all the stops to make sure this record his effective and articulate. Each track showcases a different tempo or beat structure that allows DJ Waterzz to demonstrate different angles of his ability as a songwriter and composer, and he definitely doesn’t disappoint.

Each song on SEA has its own flavorful additives and really puts Waterzz‘ talent and authenticity at the forefront, and has no reason to hide behind noisy post production. He’s a rapper that is quick on his feet, precise and really proves that his craft has been mastered very effectively.

His single so far has been well-received, and absolutely deserves all the recognition he is getting. If you’re into a truly talented wordsmith that really knows how to articulate his artistic merit in the world of Hip Hop in his own versatile way, then DJ Waterzz delivers up a record that any avid Hip Hop listener can resonate with. Artist Review: Skyla Mac – “Mactober” LP

Straight heat coming from the streets to your stereo, elite Hip Hop artist Skyla Mac comes out swinging with his hybrid and vibrant new album Mactober.

Strap yourselves in for the ride, cause Skyla is going places with this latest record. Taking on an edge-of-your-seat lyrical approach, we get a heavy dose of yesterday’s iconic Hip Hop eras swiftly blended with today’s next-level sensibility. With versatility in the album ranging from feel-good tracks to straight bangers, we never get the same thing twice but always get the same artist. And that’s one very big component to this record – the signature sound and identity of Skyla. You always know it’s him despite the approach he takes. He’s recognizable and identifiable.

Utilizing multifaceted best mixes and post production sequences that add the perfect flavors, each track on Mactober embraces its own musical spectrum and lyrical composure. Skyla really focuses on his precision and making sure his rhyming techniques are pivotal and relevant to each measure. And the execution of his content is one of the many things that makes him a standout of his caliber.

Mactober also has a plethora of hood superstars stepping in as feature artists on this record, including Raekwon, Bun B, Sheek Louch, Maino and Uncle Murda. Artist Review: Maddness – “My Only One (feat. LUV)” Single

When it comes to colorful lyrical flow, clever punchlines and witty rhyming techniques, Maddness knows exactly how to hold it down. And we get all of that and more with his new highly anticipated single “My Only One”.

Building a massive lyrical foundation onto a beat that is versatile and melodic, Maddness puts a great atmosphere into this track and really showcases several angles of his mic skills, and he’s very effective. Presenting an ambience that is charismatic and confident, “My Only One” really delves into today’s more mainstream Hip Hop with R&B flavors that really show off both musicianship factors and production value. It has impressive detail and definitely keeps you focused, as well as intrigued.

He makes great melody choices on top of his insatiably dynamic lines and bars, and really embraces the song’s aura as it plays out. It gives us great insight into his depth, character and overall artistic merit. It’s a dangerously catchy song that’ll stick with you even after it’s over.

Nine times out of ten, the underground and indie Hip Hop scenes is where the real magic is made, and Maddness is more living proof of that. His music resonates with the listener and doesn’t follow any trends. He is a real lyricist that actually desires to leave an everlasting impression on all who discover him, and “My Only One” truly demonstrates this kind of authenticity.

Overall, it’s very rare that you run into a track this good. “My Only One” is extremely catchy and Maddness has a lyrical edge that is innovative and next-level. And once you take a listen to this single, you’ll see exactly why. This will easily be added to your Hip Hop favorites before the year is out.

Artist Review: MiZ – “A Year Ago Today” LP

Acoustic, electric and all around eclectic, we get a fun and heartfelt catalogue of multifaceted tracks from Americana/Roots Rock recording artist MiZ‘s newest album A Year Ago Today.

MiZ is definitely no stranger to the industry. He’s performed his music on a vast array of tours and has opened up for industry heavyweights like Jason Isbell, Blues Traveler, The Wallflowers, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and a slew of others. And is also a two time winner of the Tri-State Indie Award for “Acoustic Artist Of The Year”. Now continuing his career after the well received success of his debut album, MiZ has emerged from the studio with his second studio album A Year Ago Today, and proves to be a very diligently crafted follow up record with all the goods.

Staying true to his signature sound of blissful guitar textures, dynamic melody placements and tasty vocal harmonies, MiZ delivers up an album of heartfelt catchiness that sings to your soul and sticks in your head. Each track is intelligently pieced together, has flavorful additives and delves into a fresh Americana sound with elements of Folk and served up with a classic Roots Rock style. All the while maintaining modern production value and musicianship factors that makes A Year Ago Today a very relevant record for today’s mainstream market.

From well blended acoustic guitar progressions, keyboard melodies to funky fiddles gliding through each measure with a tight rhythm section, MiZ‘s versatile vocal range is showcased very effectively and really stands out as a true original. Each song really shows the facets of his song writing and his lyrical content with catchy vocal melodies are a collective standout on this album. There is something for everyone on this record.

Another great component is the diversity of the tracks. It provides a sound that shares equal parts originality and familiarity, where you get something different from each song but know it’s coming from the same artist. And the attentiveness to the detail of MiZ‘s songwriting is one of the major things that makes A Year Ago Today the gem that it really is.

This is a masterful album, and if this is your first time discovering MiZ, you’ll be glad you did. It’s the type of album that’ll give you intrigue, and really entice you to look deeper into MiZ‘s music career and previous records. His true talent glows in this album, and it’s made apparent from start to finish.
